Joseph Garber was born in 1857. He is the son of Daniel Garber and Daniel's first wife, Elizabeth Heeter. [1] Joseph married Clara F. Kitterman in 1880. [2] Joseph died 1941 in Wabash County, Indiana. [3]
Obituary of Joseph Garber
NORTH MANCHESTER, June 23--Joseph Garber, 83 year old farmer and dairyman, died Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in the L.D. Wright home, North Manchester, following a two weeks' serious illness.
Mr. Garber was born in Chester township to Daniel and Elizabeth (Heeter) Garber in November 13, 1857. He was a life long resident of this locality and was prominently known among cattlemen in Northern Indiana. Until three years ago, he had lived on the Garber farm about two and one-half miles south of North Manchester. Following the death of his wife Clara (Kitterman) Garber, in March, 1938, he moved to North Manchester where he has lived since.
He is survived by two sons, George D. Garber, Wabash attorney and resident of North Manchester, and Dr. Paul Garber, South Whitley; one brother, Sam Garber, North Manchester, and several half-brothers and sisters. One grandson Dr. Max Garber of Baltimore survives and will come to North Manchester for the funeral services.
A son, Alvah Garber, former Wabash county recorder, died 26 years ago Monday.
The body was take the the Bender Funeral home where services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with with Rev. Robert Miller of Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.
