Biography

Early Years

Ciro was born on 13 May 1911 in Ravenna, Italy.[1]

His parents were Gianni Garroni and Giulia Spada. His mother died when he was 17. He had two older siblings: Antonietta, who died at age 15, and Alfredo, who was 3 years older than him.

Ciro worked eleven years as a bookbinder and then as a postal office employee.

Marriage

On 2 July 1933, Ciro married Francesca Faccani in Alfonsine, Ravenna, Italy.[2][3][4][5]
Because Ciro was resident in Ravenna and Francesca in Alfonsine, the marriage banns had to be published in both municipalities. Marriage banns were published on 4 June, 11 June, and 14 June 1933.

On 20 September 1934, Ciro and Francesca had their only daughter, Laura Garroni.

Death

Ciro lived his whole life in Ravenna and died in April 2011, just a few weeks shy of turning 100.
