Moved to Iowa "to follow mercantile pursuits".

Returned to Indiana and operated a store in Owensburg for several years.

Married: Melcena Short, 26 Sep 1872 Greene County, Indiana.[2][3]

Education: 1875-1877 Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.[2]
Attended Miami Medical College for two years, then returned to Indianapolis and attended lectures at Indianapolis Medical College for a number of years.

Education: abt 1885 Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.[2]
Received his M.D. from Indianapolis Medical college. (Source says "1895" but this can't be right according to rest of the biographical sketch.).

Occupation: 1885-1892 Worthington, Greene County, Indiana.[2]
Practiced medicine.

Occupation: 1892-1896 Greene County, Indiana.[2]
Served as County Clerk for four years.

Migration: 1896 Howesville, Clay County, Indiana.[2]

Occupation: 1896-1909 Clay County, Indiana.[2]
Besides practicing medicine, he bought a farm near Howesville and began raising thoroughbred Kentucky horses.
