Biography

Alyson was born in 1890 to Charles Gawith and Mary Perry.

In October 1914 Alyson Gawith was engaged to Dr Guy Moser. ^[1]
The engagement is announced of Miss Alyson Gawith, third daughter of Mrs. C. F. Gawith, of "Koeko," Masterton, to Dr. Guy Moser, third son of Mr. H. Moser, of Underfell, Kendal, England.

MOSER —GAWITH. A very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, yesterday afternoon, by Rev. J Walker, M.A., when Miss Alyson Masters Gawith, third daughter of the late Mr C. F. and Mrs Gawith, of Upper Plain, Masterton, was married to Dr. Herbert Guy Moser, third son of Mr H. Moser, of Kendall, Westmoreland, England. ...The bride was given away by her brother, Mr S. R. Gawith ... There were three bridesmaids — Miss Margaret Gawith (sister of the bride), Miss Bonnie Innes (of Palmerston North), and Miss Jessie Perry .... Mr B. P. Perry, of Sulphur Wells, acted as best man. ... The bridegroom served for five years with the British navy, taking part in the Jutland battle.

When her husband Dr Moser passed away she decided to give the net proceeds she received from her husband’s insurance with an insurance company to the local Girl Guides and Boy Scouts. Owing to the increase in death duties the amount of the gift was approximately £400. ^[3]

On 3 November 1970 Alyson Masters Moser passed away, aged 80. ^[4]
