In 1845 Sarah married Thomas Winton in Wittersham. [2] In 1859 Thomas died aged 71 [3] and from then on Sarah is recorded as a widow, working as a needlewoman. She appears to have lived in Wittersham all her life, the last census found is 1891, but no death has been found for her.

No death has so far been found for Sarah. There is one in Elham in 1905 but this is a for a lady who lived in Folkestone and was married to William Winton.
