Added July 1, 2019 by M Annette Resler https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/175564566/cuthebert-gervais Upon further research, it may be determined that Cuthebert (aka Cuthbert aka Culvert) Gervais is laid to rest at Saint Leon Catholic Cemetery at Meota/Jackfish Lake, Sask. Although his name is included on the gravesites at Fairview Cemetery, Pincher Creek, AB (as Culvert Gervais) there is no actual gravesite. Records show that he died at Jackfish Lake, SK. Research Notes

Not sure if this is the Cuthbert who was in the Riel rebellion (see source):

"From Lawrence Barkwell, Metis Museum Archives: Madeleine Fagnant Gervais (b. 1823). Madeleine was the matriarch of the large Fagnant-Gervais clan that was heavily involved in supporting Gabriel Dumont and Louis Riel during the 1885 Resistance. Her husband Alex Gervais, brother-in-law Bazile Gervais (b. 1821), her brother Cuthbert Fagnant, and three sons; Patrice, Charles and Cuthbert fought in the Resistance. Six of her daughters were married to Resistance activists. "

This is showing that Cuthbert Fagnant-6- the brother of Madeleine Gervais (nee: Fagnant) Fagnant-33 - fought in the rebellion.

Madeleine Fagnant-33 Gervais (b. 1823). Madeleine was the matriarch of the large Fagnant-Gervais clan that was heavily involved in supporting Gabriel Dumont and Louis Riel-5 during the 1885 Resistance. Her husband Alex Gervais-705, brother-in-law Bazile Gervais-989 (b. 1821), her brother Cuthbert Fagnant-6, and three sons; Patrice, Charles and Cuthbert ( Fagnant or Gervais? Fagnant ) fought in the Resistance. Six of her daughters were married to Resistance activists. "

Cuthbert Fagnant-6 fought along side Edouard and Gabriel Dumont at the last stand near Ambroise Champagne’s house at Batoche. His sons Patrice, Charles and Cuthbert [Fagnant] also fought at Batoche.

Patrice 30, Charles 27 and Cuthbert 22 are in order of age. So Fagnant, not Gervais.
