Maria Gibbs is a part of US Black heritage.

Maria was born about 1815. She was the mother of Rena Gibbs and was presumably enslaved at Fairvue Plantation, Sumner, Tennessee where her daughter's name appeared in an 1847 estate inventory. It is not known whether Maria was moved to Belmont Mansion, Davidson, Tennessee with her daughter.
