George passed away on the 12 January 1874 at Huirangi, near Waitara, in the New Plymouth District, Taranaki, New Zealand, age 65. Taranaki Herald, Volume XXII, Issue 2167, 14 January 1874, online at ^[3] and was buried on the 15 January 1874 at the Te Henui Cemetery, New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand.^[4]

Note

George arrived at Taranaki by the Amelia Thompson, in 1841.^[5] He was a farmer at Tarurutangi, in Taranaki, New Zealand.
