This profile is for the Jesse Gilbert who married Sarah Green. Whether he was born in Brunswick County, Colonial Virginia in about 1737 remains to be established. Based on unsourced trees pending examination, Jesse's father may be John Gilbert (1725-1748), who may have been born in Virginia and died North Carolina.
