Note by Martin C. Styan: Until 1844, Alstone was an exclave of Worcestershire. Until 1866, it was a chapelry in the parish of Overbury, Worcestershire. It became a separate parish in 1866, but was merged with Teddington 1935. As a result of this complex history, Alstone is sometimes placed in Worcestershire and sometimes in Gloucestershire. See: en.wikipedia: Alstone, Tewkesbury and genuki: Overbury, Worcestershire.
