Biography

Clarence Shely Gill was born on the 24th of July 1875 in Coaticook, Stanstead, Quebec. He was the son of George Gill (1824-1911) and Mary (Mayhew) Gill (1839-1920).

He married Nellie Louise (Holyon) Gill (abt.1878-1916) on the 4th of October 1899 in Waterville, Compton, Quebec.^[1] They raised four children, but only one lived to adulthood.

In 1911 his newly widowed mother was listed as living in his household in Stanstead, Quebec.^[2]

He married a second time on the 24th of September 1917 to Martha Monson (1888-) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.^[3] In 1950s they were living in Mississauga, Ontario.^[4]

Clarence passed away on the 1st of October 1967 in Port Credit, Peel, Ontario, Canada at the age of ninety-one.
