Thomas Gillespey was born February 28, 1799 in Kentucky. He was a son of Hugh Gillespie and Betsy Egnew.

Thomas Gillespey died February 12, 1854 in Allen, Ohio. He was buried in Bethlehem Cemetery in Lima, Allen, Ohio.[2]
