Biography

Institutionalized for epilepsy when she was a young person. Lived in the institution all of her life and died an elderly woman. Even though she was admitted for a health issue she was still listed as an inmate. Broughton Hospital.

Most who were hospitalized here (or detained) were buried in the hospital cemetery, but Lena Jane was brought home to be buried in the family plot in Hollywood Cemetery in Gastonia, NC.

My Father can remember visiting her with his family as a child and young man. He said she was pleasant and cognizant.
