Biography
Jane was born about 1841.[1] She passed away in 1926.[2] She is buried in the Randwick General Cemetery, New South Wales.[3]
In 1858, Jane married Donald Gillies.[4]
On Jane's passing in 1926, the following notice was published.
GILLIES.— The Relatives and Friends of the late Mrs. JANE GILLIES are kindly invited to attend her Funeral, to leave the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. James McFarlane, "Govan," Cooper Street, Maroubra, THIS (WEDNESDAY) AFTERNOON at 2.30 General Cemetery Randwick,
T. DIXON, Undertaker Corner Oxford and Crown Sts., City. 'Phone, 413 Paddlngton.[5]
Two years later Jane was remembered along with another family member.
GILLIES.-In loving memory of our dear mother. Jane Gillies, who passed away April 19, 1926. aged 85 years also our dear sister, Christina (Annie) McFarlane, who passed away April 26. 1926, aged 57 years (re-united). Inserted by their loved ones.[6]
