Having announced their engagment on November 1945 [1], Betty married Lieutenant Ronald EATON [9] [5][6] [7] [8] on 27 March 1946 [9] [5] [6] [7] at St. Anne's Anglican Church [5] [6] [7], Strathfield (registered in 1946 at Burwood [9]). In the 1950s they lived at Lindfield [10]; by 1958 they were living at Killara [10]. They had four children: Anthony, Warwick, Catherine and Stuart [3] [4].
Betty died, aged 87 [3] [4], on 10 April 2010 [2] [3] [4], at Killara?, NSW. Her ashes [3] were interred at St John's Anglican Church Cemetery [3] [4], Gordon, NSW (Columbarium, Row EE) [3] [4].

"The charm and grace of bouffant skirts of other days will be revivied at the wedding on March 27 of Betty Girling and Ronald Eaton, ex-POW from Changi, at St. Anne's, Strathfield. Betty and her four bridesmaids will all wear old-world frocks, with an off-the-shoulder effect. Something of the past will literally go into the making of Betty's frock and veil, for parts of the wedding gowns of two great-grandmothers will be used. One, which came from Ireland, is more than 200 years old and was brought out here by Betty's mother's mother...part of it, which is Honiton Lace, will form side panniers on the wedding gown. The other frock belonged to Betty's paternal great-grandmother and came from England. The magnolia shade of the bride's gown will blend with her flame-colored hair. Her bridesmaids will be in white net, their full skirts being trimmed with bunches of pink and blue flowers."Includes photograph with caption:
"Bride-to-be, Betty Girling, holding in one hand the 200-year-old Honiton lace veil which belonged to her Irish great-grandmother and in the other, a fine net veil which belonged to her English great-grandmother. They will be used in the making of her old-world wedding gown."
"PRE-WEDDING luncheon for Betty Girling (centre) was given by Constance Llewellyn (right) at Princes yesterday. Betty, who will marry Lieutenant Ron Eaton, A.I.F., at St Anne's, Strathfield, on March 27, will have her sister Pat (left) as bridesmaid."
"NEW HOURGLASS SILHOUETTE. PADDED HIPS FEATURE OF NEW GOWN. The wedding gown worn by Miss Betty Girling at her marriage last night with Lieutenant Ronald Eaton, A.I.F., was trimmed with 200-year-old lace from the bridal veils of her two grandmothers. The lace formed a low shoulder draping and softened the new padded hipline of the frock, which was of magnolia silk moire. The bride, who is the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Girling, of Strathfield, was attended by her sister, Miss Patricia Girling, Miss Constance Llewellyn, the bridegroom's sister, Miss Pamela Eaton, and Miss Maxine Goldberg. Bridesmaids wore stiff white net crinolines, with pink and blue satin bows catching the folds of the hooped skirts and the off-the-shoulder neckline. Pastel Juliet caps were of natural flowers. The bride, who was a V.A. for six years, recently made a trip to Tokio, on H.M. Aircraft carrier Formidable to bring back prisoners of war from Japan. Lieutenant Eaton, who is an ex-prisoner of war, is the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Eaton, of Mosman. After the wedding at St. Anne's, Strathfield, a reception was held at Amory."Includes photograph with caption:
