Biography

Thomas Givan(s) was born March 20, 1814, in DeKalb county, Tennessee, a son of William Givans and Sophia Evans (Dale) Givans. On February 4, 1836, in DeKalb county, Tennessee, Thomas married Nancy Emeline Fite, daughter of Moses and Mary Ann Fite. ^[1]

Thomas and Nancy Emeline are found on the United States Census of 1850, 1860 and 1880, living in DeKalb county, Tennessee. (Note: Some of the records are under the surname "Givan" and others "Givans" even on the same census record) ^{[2] [3] [4]}

Thomas died December 31, 1884, and is buried in the Givan cemetery, in Liberty, DeKalb county, Tennessee. ^[5]
