Biography

Richard was born about 1858/59, the son of Peter Bryce Glass and Ella Rebecca Tradewell. [1]

He married first on 08 Jan 1879 at Charlotte, North Carolina to Sarah K. Barnett; [2] and they had two children: [3]

  1. Julia B., b. Feb 1882
  2. Sallie H., b. 15 Dec 1884, m. James Sims Spigener, d. 30 Jan 1954

Richard passed away on 10 May 1900 in New York City and is buried in an unidentified grave on Long Island. [4] [5]

Research Notes

There's a story here that is not told in census records...

Richard's wife Sarah (Barnett) Glass's 1931 obituary identifies her as Richard's widow, but there are two more more marriage records for Richard, within five years of his death in 1900:

  • He married second on 15 Feb 1896 in Marion, Indiana to Maud Perylee. [6]
  • He married third on 17 Jul 1898 in New York City to Alice Johanson. [7]
