Source of the will was on 9/17/2013 in the Marengo County, Alabama probate office of the city hall in Linden, Marengo, Alabama: Ref: Will Record A, pages 204-208. “Know all men by these presents that I Allen Glover of the county of Marengo and state of Alabama in consideration of the love and affection which I have to and have for the following named persons. I hereby give grant convey assign and deliver unto these and to each of them the following described property and effects to wit:  To my wife, Mary A Glover I hereby in addition to the property heretofore conveyed to her by deed give grant assign and convey to her and to her heirs and assigns the one eighth or a childs part of all my estate both real and personal not heretofore or otherwise disposed of to have and to hold to the said Mary A Glover and to her heirs and assigns for wit to her ___ her sole and only proper use benefit and behold.  To my son William A Glover I hereby give grant assign and convey one eighth or a sholds part of all my estate both real and personal not heretofore or otherwise disposed of to have and to hold the same to him and to his heirs and assigns for use.  To my daughter Sarah Lyon the wife of Francis S Lyon I hereby give grant assign and convey on eighth or a childs part of my estate both real and personal not heretofore or otherwise disposed of to her and to her heirs in performance to the heirs of her husband and not to be sold or disposed of without the assent and concurrence of my said daughter.  To my daughter Alethia Davenport the wife of James Davenport I hereby give grant assign and convey on eighth or a childs part of my estate both real and personal not heretofore or otherwise disposed of to her and to her heirs in performance to the wishes of her husband and not to be sold or disposed of without the assent and concurrence of my said daughter.  To my daughter Willey Ann Griffin the wife of Goodman G Griffin I hereby give grant assign and convey one eighth or a childs part of my estate both real and personal not heretofore or otherwise disposed of to her and to her heirs in performance to the wishes of her husband and not to be disposed of without the assent and concurrence of my said daughter.  To my son George Frederick Glover I hereby give grant assign and convey on eighth or a childs part of all my estate both real and personal not heretofore or =otherwise disposed of. Top have and to hold to him and to his heirs and assigns forever.  To my daughter Ann Gaines Glover I hereby give grant assign and convey on eighth or a childs part of all my estate both real and personal not heretofore or otherwise disposed of to her and to the heirs of her body to her and their sole and only proper use benefits herself.  To my daughter Laura Davenport Glover I hereby give grant assign and convey one eighth or a childs part of all my estate both real and personal not heretofore or otherwise disposed of to her and to the heirs of her body to her and to their sole and only proper use benefit on herself.  To my granddaughter Mary Thompson I hereby give grant assign and convey the one fourth part of an equal part not heretofore or otherwise disposed of to her and to her heirs of her body and in the event of her aging without issue such part to revert to my estate. The share of the said Mary Thompson to be made up by an equal abatement of the eighth part or ____ heretofore conveyed by this instrument.  To my wife Mary A Glover and her three children to wit George, Ann, and Laura I hereby give grant assign and convey all my household and Ritoken furniture plantation bolts and implements and stock provisions now on hand and also growing crop of the present year with her use of the negroes until the same is cultivated and gathered.  To my son George [Frederick Glover] I hereby give grant and convey in addition to the property heretofore conveyed the quarter section of land purchased of John W Ehicamp [sp?] of Tomissco and lying about four miles south of Demopolis; and also two half quarter sections of land situated in township seventeen, range five, one adjoining Col Pearson and the other adjourning PJ Weasous [sp?] land is to the children of Thomas Nelson of Sumter County I hereby give grant assign and convey the half quarter section of land adjourning to or very near Memphis [sp?] mill in Sumter County.

I hereby except from this conveyance the quarter section of land owned by me and known as the Porter Quarter embracing a part of B N Glover’s [Benjamin Nash Glover] plantation. I also except from this conveyance all the land in the French Grant and in Sumter County in which F S Lyon has an interest with me and I also except from it all the lands entered by me for others or in my name sold or contracted to be sold and I also except all the lands owned by me in the state of Mississippi or on which I have an interest in partnership with others.

In witness whereas I have herewith set my hand and seal this 2nd Jun 1840.

"Allen Glover was the son of Joseph Frederick and Sarah Cato Bean Glover. He is interred in the Glover Mausoleum in Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis, Alabama.

He was married to Sarah Norwood of Greenwood, South Carolina on April 17, 1794. Sarah died on November 6, 1824. He then married Mary A. Devin of Winchester, Va. on February 1, 1832. He is the father of Mary Amelia Thornton who is also buried in this mausoleum.

Allen Glover built the Glover Mausoleum and donated much of the land this cemetery is on."
