Biography
Thomas was born about 1430. Thomas’ father died in the winter of 1438-39 while Thomas was still a minor. He was placed under the guardianship of Sir Thomas Chaworth of Wiverton, who insitigated an action against Thomas’ mother and others to gain Thomas’ inheritance when he had reached maturity. Sir Thomas probably was not without personal interest in this action; he later married his daughter, Joan, with Thomas Goldesborough.[1]
