Biography

George was born in 1838 in Black Bourton, Oxfordshire[1]. He was the son of Matthew Gomm and Hannah Plant. His baptism took place in Black Bourton on 2nd December 1838[2][3]. His father stated on the register that he was a labourer.

In 1841, George was living in Black Bourton, Oxfordshire with his parents and 5 siblings[4]
