Biography

Samuel was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1790. His parents were John Gookin of Portland, Maine and Mary (?) of Salem, Massachusetts. Samuel was a merchant. He married Mary Patterson in 1811. He died in Portsmouth on 18 July 1864.
