Biography
Bernard/Barney/Baruch/Bennie/Ben "Bannie" Gordon was born December 25th 1889 in Bela-cercov (Bila Tserkva, Kiev?) Russia to Ida (Gordonisky) Godinski (bef.1870-) and Israel Gordon (bef.1870-).
He immigrated to the United States on the boat Megantic from Liverpool England to the port of Boston on February 11, 1910 (age 20) having previously lived in s Kiel (Kiev?) Russia. He became a citizen on December 13, 1912 (age 22).
At the time he was 5' 4", weighed 115 pounds, had black hair and brown eyes.
Bannie had one brother Samuel S Gordon (1887-1970) 2 years older than Bannie, who immigrated before Bannie in 1905 at age 18.
On 13 Aug 1915, at age 23 he married Bessie "Pessie" (Hirsch) Gordon (abt.1891-bef.1928) (24). At the time they lived at 232 Western Ave. in Cambridge MA and they were both working as clerks.
Together they had 3 children, Ida T Gordon (abt.1917-), Mary (Gordon) McCrensky (1919-2006), Frederick Gordon (abt.1922-).
After Pessie died (before 1930) he married Anna (Unknown) Gordon (abt.1905-) in 1924 (age 25, est birth 1905, parents both from russia, emigrated, 1906, spoke Yiddish) and together they had one child: Edie (Gordon) Unknown.
He lived at 2792 Washington Street Roxborough Boston MA (1912) 128 Willow, Leominster, MA (1917 age 28) Leominster, MA (1920, 1930) and 71 Beaumont, Leominster (1940) , 18 Morse Place, Leominster (1942, 1950) 18 Evans Ct, Leominster (1968) a total of 53 years.
He worked as a shoe maker (1912) Junk Merchant - self employed at 57 Water Street, Leominster, MA (1917, 1920) and Junk Dealer, Metal Waste (1930), Collects Junk, Junk and Trucking industry (1940) (until retirement at age 65) and spoke Yiddish.
Bannie died in January 1968 (or 27 Dec 1968) at age 77 in Leominster Hospital and is burried in Fitchburg, MA, Agudas Achim plot E68.
