Eugene J. Gorman served as Editor-in-Chief of the Missouri Miner newspaper in 1925 before receiving his Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the Missouri School of Mines that Spring. Gorman was killed in a mining accident in Chile while working for the Braden Copper Company on September 12, 1925.
