Biography

James was born in 1918, the son of John Grainger and Gladys Bossom. He enlisted with the RAAF ^[1] and was killed in action in 1943 ^[2].

He was the second pilot on Sunderland aircraft that reported enemy fighters approaching the plane. His body was never recovered. The plane had a crew of 11.
