Archibald Graves is attributed to Stephen Graves as a son due to his proximity to another Stephen Graves in the 1810 census. Archibald, James and Stephen live next door to one another. Since Stephen is probably a Gen. 168 Graves,[1] we attribute Archibald to the same family based upon that. He is also enumerated in the 1800 census by name in Liberty District, Marion, South Carolina with two additional boys, presumably James and Stephen, and a much older female who is probably their mother Jennie. If we look even further back to the 1790 census, a family with the head of household "James" lives in the same area and is enumerated with 4 boys, presumably Archibald, James, Stephen and William. Though not definitive proof, it certainly strongly suggests that relationship. Any male descendants of Archibald could prove or disprove with a 37 snp y-dna test.
