Biography

Louise was born on 6 December 1906 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.[1] She was the daughter of Frank Gray and Margaret Tarkington.[2]

By 1920, she and her mother had moved to Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.[3] By 1925, they had moved to Buffalo, Erie County, New York, and her mother had married John Joseph Berberick.[4] Louise worked as a saleslady.[5][6]

She married Fredrick Plaumann on 24 July 1926 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York.[7]

By 1935, she was living in Cedarville, Herkimer County, New York.[8]

She married her stepfather John Joseph Berberick in 1936 in Boston, Massachusetts.[9]

In 1939, after the death of her husband, she briefly lived in Chicago, Illinois.[10] By 1940, she had returned to Cedarville, New York.[11] In the late 1940s, she lived in Little Falls, Herkimer County, New York.[12][13]

She married Leonard D. Smith on 18 February 1944 in Little Falls, Herkimer County, New York.[14] They operated the Lakeport Grocery in Lakeport, Madison County, New York.[15] She married her fourth husband Maurice O. Fox on 11 June 1964 in Alexandria, Virginia,[16] and the store was then called Fox's Lakeport Grocery.[17]

She died on 28 July 1979 in Utica, Oneida County, New York.[18] She was buried in Cedarville Cemetery, Cedarville, New York.[19][20]
