Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1751. She was the daughter of Samuel Gray and Patience Roberts. She passed away in 1810.

Elizabeth (again) [Gray], born 16 June 1751 (Hinshaw says 5 11mo 1751, possibly based on an abstract of records from the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting[1] ), died 4 November 1810, married at Philadelphia Meeting 6 4mo 1769 [6 April 1769] Joseph Hopkins, third son of Gerrard and Mary Hall Hopkins, born 11 January 1744/5, died 11 September 1825. Elizabeth and Joseph Hopkins had 13 children, the ninth born 16 June 1783 named Isaac Gray Hopkins for Elizabeth's brother. [2]

FYI, The Quaker first month was in March. So, April would have been the second month. I am not an expert in this, but I do recall that there was quite a lot of discussion regarding the Quaker dating system a while back.

You are correct for years up to and including 1751. Beginning 1752 that changed. More at the following URL.

Howell-6778 and Gray-25257 appear to represent the same person because: Elizabeth's father Samuel Gray died in 1755. Her mother Patience Roberts married Isaac Howell in 1759. Clear duplicate, last name at birth was Gray.
