William T Gray (age 26), son of Harvey Gray and Nancy Gray, married Sarah E. Rice on 23 January 1875 in Russell, Virginia.[4]
Research Notes
The 1850 Census for Russell County has anomalous markings for race. In the online images from both Family Search and Ancestry, many pages seem to have the W wiped out, making all the dittos meaningless and subject to misinterpretation. In their index, Family Search interpreted Harvey Gray's family as Mulatto.
