Nancy Adeleine Green was born February 7, 1877 in Christian County Missouri to William and Elizabeth Green.
Nancy and Charles Orland Minor were married on January 25, 1895 in the Fordland area of Webster County Missouri.
Tree of their eight children were born were born in the area. They were: Nellie May, born November 19, 1896, Mary Elizabeth, born May 18, 1897, and George Lewey, born October 18, 1898.
Their fourth child John Morris was born June 12, 1901 in McCune, Crawford, Kansas.
The family moved to Garvin County, Oklahoma in 1902. The four remaining children were born there. They were: Myrtle Maude, born November 17, 1906, Ivy Dora, born May 14, 1909, Lester Warren, born February 19, 1912 and Chester Charley, born July 4, 1915.
The 1910 Census lists the family with 6 children in the Brady Township of Garvin County, Oklahoma.
Charles Orland Minor died on February 2, 1920 of influenza / pneumonia and is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, Garvin, Oklahoma. The 1920 Oklahoma census lists Nancy and her five younger children still living in Brady twp, Garvin, OK.
The 1930 Oklahoma census lists Nancy and her two youngest sons living with the family of Robert and Myrtle Donaldson (her daughter) in Duke Township of Jackson County. Later that year she and her two youngest sons moved to a farm two miles west of Strong City, Roger Mills, OK.
In about 1941, her health began to fail and after that she lived with Bob and Myrtle Donaldson who in the early 1940s, moved from Strong City to a farm near Rose Hill community, seven miles south of Cheyenne.
Because of her health problems, she spent much of her time in bed piecing quilts for her family. Her grandchildren knew her as Ma.
Her husband, son John Morris, and daughter Nellie Mae Popejoy preceded her in death.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Donaldson, Cheyenne; Mrs. Mary Hall, Homa, Louisiana, Mrs. Iva Cross, Elmore City; three sons, George of Eureka, California, Lester of Cheyenne, Chester of Pampa, Texas, one brother, Noel Green, Springfield, Missouri. She is survived by 28 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren.
Committal was in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scroggins of Cheyenne.
