http://wvancestry.com/ReferenceMaterial/Files/Virginia_Pension_Abstracts_of_the_Revolutionary_War_War_of_1812_and_Indian_Wars_Vol_20.pdf Pages 14-18

Per his son, Thomas Collins Green's testimony (given 1844) - John served in the Rev War and was present at the Germantown and Monmouth. His only brother Thomas was killed at the Battle of Brandywine.

After the war John & Betzy moved from Fauquire to Culpeper and then to Kentucky in 1805. After John's death, Betzy moved to Clarke County KY.

Per affidavit by his wife Betsy regarding his pension application - she names 3 sons, first Thomas Collins, named after his uncle Thomas who died at Brandywine and her father. Thomas Collins was born 1 year and 1 month following their wedding. Next was Jesse P. who was born 2 years and 14 days after his brother Thomas and finally Edmund who are born in Culpeper March 1, 1792. She also says they had 2 other sons and 1 daughter but did not give their names. She says they were parishioners at Carter's Run Baptist Church in Fauquier and they were both baptized by Rev. John Picket.
