Ann Greenwood, daughter of William and Margaret, was born at Molonglo in 1841. In 1872 Ann Greenwood and Henry Taylor Crossley had been married for 10 years, having been married at Braidwood in 1862. Henry was born in Oldham, UK in 1832. Their eldest child was now nine and their youngest child was aged one. Five children had been born by 1872 and a further child would be born in 1874. A Henry Crossley was listed as a carter at Majors Creek in Greville's Directory. This agrees with birth certificates in that two of Henry's children were born at Majors Creek in 1871 and 1874. At the time of his marriage in 1862 Henry's occupation was butcher as it was in 1865 when his second child was born. In later years his occupation was hotelkeeper (marriage certificate of his daughter Mary Ellen in 1905). Ann's and Henry's six children, William, Mary, John, Elizabeth, Catherine and James, were born at Crown Flat, Araluen; at Redbank, Araluen; and at Majors Creek (see discussion on the Madigan family above for an explanation of these localities and the reason for the move from Araluen to Majors Creek in the early 1870s). Henry died in 1891 and is buried at Tenterfield in north eastern NSW. Ann died in 1895 and is buried in Waverley Cemetery.[7]
