Harriet E Gregory was born in 1866 in Kentucky, United States, daughter of John Belli Gregory (1829–1902) and Catherine Smith (1837–1911).

Harriet (21) married Ariel Norton Barney (28) (born in 1859 in Michigan, United States; son of Charles Barney and [[Rice-22 632|Mary (Rice) Barney]]) on June 10, 1888 in Manhattan, New York City, New York. ^[1]

In the 1870 census Harriette (age 4) was in Portsmouth, Scioto, Ohio, United States.^[2] John B Gregory 45, Kate Gregory 35, Harrison Gregory 15, Hiram D Gregory 12, Harriette E Gregory 4, Flora Conklin 20.

In the 1880 census Hattie (age 14), At School, was the daughter of John Gregory in Portsmouth, Scioto, Ohio, United States.^[3] John Gregory 50, wife Kate Gregory 43, son Hiram Gregory 22, daughter Hattie Gregory 14, other Daniel Smith 38, other Sallie Shield 23.

Harriet died on October 21, 1944 in Manhattan, New York County, New York, United States, aged 77. She was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Portsmouth, Ohio.^[4][5]

Research Notes

There are errors in Harriet's birthdate on the death record it states her year of birth is 1876 which is a record from Ancestry, the informate gave wrong info, also wrong info for her parents , which stated her parents as Thomas and Mary , her parent's names were John and Katherine, the record also lists her husband as John but his name was Ariel , she is listed in the 1860, 1870 census record as birth year as 1866, her marriage record is says she was married in the year 1888 , it does state her brother's correct name, Hiram D Gregory , as the excutor
