Biography
Harriette Emma Ann "Hattie" Grimes was born on 01 July 1880 in Brandon, Hill County, Texas, United States. Her parents were Benjamin William Grimes (1846 - 1929) and Caroline A. (Sheppard) Grimes (1858 - 1884).[1]
Harriette married John Edwin Osborne on 16 September 1897 in Hill County, Texas.[2] They were the parents of at least 5 children.[3]
Hattie, her husband John, and their son Curtis were living in Justice Precinct 8, Hill County, Texas when the 1900 United States Census was taken.[4]
When the 1910 United States Census was taken, Hattie and John E. Osborne and their family were living in Stanford, Jones County, Texas. Hattie had given birth to 4 children, all of whom were still living and recorded in the household.[5]
Hattie, John, and their children were living in Bynum, Hill County, Texas when the 1920 United States Census was taken.[6]
They were making their home in Hillsboro, Hill County, Texas when the 1930 United States Census was taken.[7]
When the 1940 United States Census was taken, Harriette, John, and their family were living in Justice Precinct 7, Hidalgo County, Texas. They had moved there after 1935.[8]
A 1950 United States Census record has not yet been located.
Harriette "Hattie" (Grimes) Osborne died of heart failure from arteriosclerotic heart disease on 12 April 1972 at Valley Grande Manor in Weslaco, Hidalgo County, Texas. She was 91 years old.[9] She was buried in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Weslaco, Hidalgo County, Texas.[1][3][10]
