In 1911 Joseph Groves (age 21, Tool Maker & Fitter at Bolts Works) lived in Rowley Regis with his father Thomas (62, Bolt Rivet Frost Load Manf), mother Hannah (61), and sister Minnie (18).[5]
Joseph Groves (age 23, Bachelor, Tool Maker, residing at Payne Street Blackheath, son of Thomas Groves, Rivet Manufacturer) and Hannah Hackett (age 23, Spinster, Screwer, residing at Payne Street Blackheath, daughter of Shadrack Hackett, deceased, Quarryman) were married on 26 Oct 1912 at St Paul's in Blackheath - the witnesses were Frederick Hackett & Eliza Cashmore.[6] The marriage was registered in Stourbridge, Worcestershire in the last quarter of the year.[7]
