Ellis was married twice. The first was to A?. E. Lexus, who he had 2 children with. Earnie Jean and Wesly mae (that was killed in car wreck with Icy Gunnin's 2 children).
1920 census misspells surname as Gunnison, also misspelled on another census as Gummin.
