Biography

Dorothy Gunter Wilkerson, widow of Clyde Furman Wilkerson, passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Born April 24, 1924 in Marshall, NC the daughter of Benjamin Gunter and Maggie Edmonds Gunter.

She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. Survivors include three children, Douglas Gary Wilkerson of Charlotte, NC and Terri Wilkerson Coker and Donna Wilkerson Jarrell, both of Hanahan, SC; one sister, Ruth King of Marshall, NC; one brother, Fred Gunter of Marshall, NC; and a close cousin, Bertha Hodges of Kingsport, TN; five grandchildren, Dr. Jason Coker, Phillip Coker, Brian Jarrell, Krista Clark and Leslie Jarrell all of Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 6-8 PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC.

A funeral service will be held on January 4, 2009, 2 PM, at Aldersgate Methodist Church, 1444 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC.

Burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Flowers will be accept or memorial maybe made to Aldersgate Methodist Church, 1444 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406. Arrangements are being handled by Carolina Memorial Funeral Home.
