John Joseph was born on April 16, 1921 in East Boston, Massachusetts to Henry James "Harry" Hamilton and Mary Jane Conway. John had two brothers, Henry James "Hank" and Charles "Lindy", and two sisters, Mary Ellen and Margaret.
