Biography

John was a Friend (Quaker)

John Haddock, Sr.'s parentage and place of birth are not known. He was in Northern Ireland by the 1650's. There is DNA connection between a descendant of John Haddock with a descendant of William Haddock of Essex, so it is possible John came from England during the Cromwell era and remained.

John Haddock, Sr. was a fervent Quaker. He along with his sons John Jr. and William, are documented during the years 1671 until 1681 suffering persecution for their faith. John was at least not imprisoned like his son. It is well described in a 1683 political tract.[1]

Research Notes

No birth, marriage or death record located in the Quaker records.
