Biography

Walter William Haff was born on April 14, 1911, in Merrifield, Crow Wing, Minnesota, to Harry Haff and Adelaide Minnesota Webb.^[1] In 1920, the full family, including Walter, his parents, and his brothers--Lowell, Milton and Wayne was living on a farm in Lake Edwards, Crow Wing, Minnesota.^[2] They were still here in 1930, without his oldest brother, Wayne, but with his maternal grandmother, Mary Klein.^[3] He was married to Zora A Donavich on July 3, 1935.^[4] After the birth of one daughter with her, Marie, in 1938, he was married a second time, to Rachel Gunderson, on October 14, 1939.^[4] In 1940, he, his wife, and his daughter by his first marriage were living in Hoquiam, Grays Harbor, Washington, at 722 Queen Avenue.^[5]

He died on August 3, 1995, in Crow Wing County, Minnesota.^[6] He is buried with his wife at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd, Crow Wing County, Minnesota.^[7]
