Research Notes

There are various records that need further research to determine if he married. And, if he did, to who.

Some records have a Spencer Hairston marrying a Mary/Martha/Mariah.

Some show a Spencer, son of Joshua Hairston and Mary Hairston. Although this Spencer was not born until 1873 and married M J Sanders in 1892.

Other shows a Spencer, son of Abram Hairston and Dolly Hairston.

Then, there is Spencer Carter Martin (1863-1949) who is the son of Decatur Hairston and Mary F Hairston who married Maria Broadnax.

The records currently found on FamilySearch are a bit of a jumbled mess and will require a lot of time to read them to find which may or may not go with this Spencer. See IDs: GV57-3HG, L493-DB5 and L7HW-R24 for all these Spencers.
