Marianna (or Maria) Haker was born on August 9, 1863, in Ksawerów in Pabianice parish, Poland[1]. Her parents were Józef Haker, 27-years-old weaver from Ksawerów, and his 22-years-old wife Barbara born Just.
She was baptized the next day, on August 10. The witnesses were Józef Rajchert, aged 46, and Adolf Samuel aged 23, weavers from Ksawerów. The ceremony was led by the Rev. Leonard Urbankiewicz. The godparents were Ignacy Ajbich (Eibich?) and Marianna [Kuna or Kum, possibly Kmiec].
At the age of 16, she married 19-years-old Andrzej Nowak, son of Ludwik Nowak and Katarzyna born Szer, on February 2, 1880, in Pabianice St Matthew church[2]. The groom was living in Rypułtowice and he was a soldier of the reserve. The bride was living with her parents in Ksawerowo. The witnesses were Jan Just, aged 40, and Piotr Kun, aged 50, farmers from Rypułtowice. The ceremony was led by the Rev. Edward Szulc.
They had at least ten children, five of whom died early[3]:
Andrzej Nowak passed away on May 31, 1908, in Pabianice[4]. Marianna became a widow. There is no record of her death in Pabianice up to 1915.
