David Hale was born on February 4, 1833 in Sugar Creek Township, Greene, Ohio, United States, son of John C Hale (1775–1845) and Sarah Lewis Sally Lewis (1796–1853).[1]

David died on November 26, 1872 in Whitley, Indiana, United States, aged 39. He was buried in Spring Creek Cemetery, Sidney, Kosciusko County, Indiana.[1]
