Biography

James Ham was the first of five children born to Sarah Wells, the first wife of Joel Wilson Ham. Sarah passed away in 1859. Sarah's other children were Orson, Sarah, Bennett and Charles. After Sarah's passing James married Martha A. Long in 1871.Their marriage was blessed with two children, Sarah and Thomas. James passed away in his early twenties and is buried at Ham Cemetery in Chambersburg, Pike County, Illinois.
