Patricia Hamilton is Notable.

A Canadian actress, director and educator, perhaps best known for her role to international audiences as Rachel Lynde in the television mini-series Anne of Green Gable and its sequels as well as the television series Road to Avonlea. She was nominated 3 times for a Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series, winning in 1996.

Graduate of Carnegie Institute of Technology. Trained at Central School of Speech and Drama, London. Performed with the Shaw Festival, Niagara–on–the–Lake, Ontario, the National Arts Centre, the Stratford Festival as well as various American Shakespeare festivals.

Patricia was born April 27, 1937 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was the daughter of James Hamilton and Florence Stuart.

Her 1st marriage was to Alan Kimmel, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Kimmel of New York City, on May 8, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her mother announced the marriage in The Barrie Examiner on May 10, 1961.[1]

Her 2nd marriage was to Leslie Merle Carlson on December 23, 1966 in his hometown Mitchell, Davison, South Dakota. She had attended Carnegie Institute of Technology and he had graduated in 1952 from Mitchell High School and both the bride and groom were employed by Crest Theater Co. The bride's mother was named as Mrs. Florence Twiss.[2][3]

They were the parents of one son and the marriage ended in divorce about 1973.

Patricia died on April 30, 2023 in the area of Stratford, Perth, Ontario, just 3 days after her 86th birthday.[4]

  • 1997 - Gemini Award nomination - for best performance by an actress in a featured supporting role in a dramatic series

Research Notes

According to Wikipedia, Patricia was the sister of fellow Canadian actress Barbara Hamilton but this is NOT true!!!

Patricia's parents were completely DIFFERENT from those of Barbara Hamilton.
