William Hamley, of Bodmyn, married Sarah Pomerroy, sojourner, 30 July 1778 by licence, St Merryn Church Register, Bodmyn, Cornwall. Witness es Hoblyn Peter and Elizabeth Peter.

New Charter of Bodmin printed 12 March 1835 in The Bodmin Register. Alderman - Called in the Charter Capital Burgesses and Councillors: No 4 Joseph Hamley born 1782. Surgeon, one of 3 County Coroners, el C.C. vice Trescott, 26 May 1803. A William Hamley his father, 24 Sept 1813. Mayor in 1818-19 and 1826-27.

Monumental Inscription in the Church of Bodmin September 1828. page 230. Near the Chancel door is a stone "In memory of William Wymond of the this town Surgeon who died 1 June 1730 age 53. Also of William Hamley of this town Surgeon who died 10 July 1810 aged 70. Also of Sarah, his wife, who died 28 July 1812 aged 65. Also of Elizabeth, wife of Joseph Hamley of this town Surgeon, and daughter of the Rev John Bassett Collins of Glynn, who died 1 February 1810 aged 28.

Died 19 July 1810 aged 70. William Hamley buried 24 July 1810, St Petroc Church register, Bodmin, Cornwall.
