Artie M Hamon was born 28 Dec 1887 in Newton County, Arkansas, United States. She was the third child and first daughter of Alvin W Hamon and Sarah Jane Gladden. Artie died 27 Mar 1969 at age 82 in Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, United States. She is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, United States.[1][2]

Artie worked as a cook. In 1927, her daughter Alma Bailey, a student, and her mother Sarah Hamon lived with her. In 1928, children Alma and Leo and her mother Sarah Hamon lived with Artie. Alma worked as a clerk at Bennett Graff, and Leo was a student. Her brother Pad and his wife Eula lived next door at 1308 W 18th. By 1929, neither Alma nor Leo were listed as residing in Tulsa, but Sarah still lived with Artie.[6]
In the 1930 census enumerated by Ramey R Stroud on April 05, 1930, Artie Bailey (age 35) was the widowed sister of the head of household Pat Hammond [Pad Hamon] on West 21st Street, in Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, United States.[7] According to the census, the following persons resided in the household:

In the 1940 census as enumerated by Theodore L Holden on April 17, 1940, Artie (age 45) was the widowed head of household and lived alone in Tulsa, Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States.[10]
The 1943 and 1946 Jackson City Directories show that Artie Bailey, widow of Sherman Bailey, resided in Apt 3 at 500 Francis in Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, United States. In 1946, Artie was a factory worker at the Miller-McCluskey Plating Corporation at 2309 E Ganson St, Jackson, MI.[11]
The 1954, 1955, and 1957 Jackson City Directories show that Artie Bailey, widow of Sherman Bailey, resided in an apartment at 119 E Franklin in Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, United States.[12]
