Biography

Richard was born about 1891. He was the son of Benjamin Hampton and Sarah Unknown. He passed away about 1957.

He was a farmer in 1918 at Preston Farm, Newlands, Canterbury, New Zealand. Richard served in the Mounted Rifles Brigade Reinforcements, 1st NZEF on 9 August 1918 as a private 58125. He sailed as part of the 39th Reinforcements, on the S.S. Moeraki. He was (an unknown value) circa 1919 at Preston Farm, Newlands, Canterbury, New Zealand.6 He was a Sunshine header harvester owner after 1919 at Elgin, Canterbury, New Zealand.[1]
