John Turner Manon and Mary Ellen (Hanks) Manon were the actual parents of Elsie Lorena Dorothy Manon. The couple concocted the story regarding the child being a foundling. All DNA tests reflect that Elsie was their child. Also they admitted this was true in nearly all Census and legal papers.
