Biography

Ola was the son of Hans Kristenson Røen and Brynhild Tølløvsdotter. [1]

Born 25 Jan and christened 5 Feb 1832 in Rindal parish, Romsdal's county, Norway. [2] At the time his parents lived at a cotter's farm named (Kalve-)Hagen belonging to the farm Nestua Røen (in Romundstad area) in Rindal. [1]

Married Sigrid Olsdotter (1835-1902) on 19 Mar 1863 in Rindal. [3]

Listed in the 1865 census as living with his family at the vicarage (Norw.: 'prestegard') of Aukra parish, Romsdal's county and tending part of the farm on a leasing contract. [4]

Listed in the 1900 census as receiving support and lodging (Norw.: 'kaarmann') and also working on the farm of his son Ola [5] who then was the owner of Negard Romundstad. [6]

Ola died 15 Dec and was buried 22 Dec 1910 in Rindal. [7]
