I, William Harbord, of Stratton Strawless,
In the name of God Amen the 22nd of January in the year of our Lord, 1739 (sic, 1740), I William Harbord being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory etc.
to John Harbord, my son 20 shillings within six months…

Note: The only reference to grandchildren is with respect to children of daughter Sarah
Thurston. Sons John, William and Henry may or may not be married. Son-in-law John Armiger
is wife Elizabeth’s son by her first marriage. Son Henry's legacy suggests he may be sick or
injured or crippled etc.

Burial
In August of 2023, a findagrave was created in an effort to locate the final resting place of William. A volunteer went to Stratton Strawless and located the grave beside that of Elizabeth Harbord. Picture generously shared by the photographer.
